2021 Concours at Pasadera

Your collection of Die Cast Hot Wheels isn’t just taking over a room in your house — it’s an investment portfolio. Category Groups will be recognized. Exhibitors are invited to submit their collection. A maximum of 3 applications per Award Group can be submitted to be judged at the first-ever, Hot Wheels Concours. CASA of Monterey County will be the benefactor, receiving a contribution from the event. Visit Website.

Class Awards

Exhibitor

Exhibitors will receive 1 selected Hot Wheels model, designated with a “2020/21 Hot Wheels Concours at Pasadera” plate.

Exhibitors will present 3 of their favorite cars from their collection by completing the application form.  Their application will be reviewed by the Jury.  Note:  Each vehicle must submit 2 pictures, 1 of the body and 1 of the undercarriage.  Once approved, the Exhibitor will be notified.

Class Award: $25 (Up to 3 exhibits in this category will be accepted per exhibitor)

Special Exhibitor

Exhibitors in this category will receive the Special Exhibitor Award. Up to 3 pieces may be submitted for acceptance by the Jury. Once approved, the Exhibitor will be notified.

Note: These vehicles are commonly recognized as rare collector pieces with escalating values that are determined by the market, many of which are posted in published collector value guides. Once approved, the Exhibitor will be notified.

Special Exhibitor: $45 (Up to 3 exhibits in this category will be accepted per exhibitor)

Designer Award

In recognition of designers Larry Wood and Ryu Asada.  Chosen by the three-member panel as the most significant exhibition piece at the show.

Best of Show Award  

Chosen by popular vote, cast by guests and officials attending the event.  The Award is created by Tiffany and Co.

Note: These will be chosen by the Jury as Iconic Collectibles. Each accepted Special Exhibitor piece will receive a special Hot Wheels Concours at Pasadera Award by Tiffany and Co. Limited to 30 exhibits on display in this category.

What are the different exhibition Categories?

Exhibitor:  Exhibitors will present 3 of their favorite cars from their collection.  These models will be reviewed by the Jury and once approved, accepted for exhibition.

Special Exhibitor:  Up to 3 cars can be submitted and exhibited by any one exhibitor.  One model will be chosen for the Special Exhibition Tiffany Award from each exhibitor.

How many cars can I exhibit?

An exhibitor can submit cars in both Exhibitor and Special Exhibitor categories…up to 3 cars as an Exhibitor and up to 3 cars as a Special Exhibitor.

What would the cost be to exhibit in both categories?

$25 exhibiting as an “Exhibitor” (up to 3 cars displayed) and $45 for the Special Exhibition Award (up to 3 cars displayed).  A Total of $70 to exhibit on both categories.

What Awards will I be competing for?

As an Exhibitor, you will receive a selected Hot Wheels car chosen for them by the Judges per class exhibition as an Exhibitor Award, designated with a “2020/21 Hot Wheels Concours at Pasadera” plate.

Each Special Exhibition exhibitor will receive an award by Tiffany for THE car chosen (from their exhibit) by the Officials as the exhibitor’s most important piece.  Reminder: Exhibitor may present as many as 3 cars in the Special Exhibition Class.

The Elliot Handler Award is presented by the three-member panel as the most significant exhibition piece at the show.  The Award is created by Tiffany and Co.

2020/21 Hot Wheels Concours Trophy is presented by the Head Judge as the car best representing the spirit of the 2020/21 event.  The Award is created by Tiffany and Co.

People’s Choice Award is chosen by popular vote, cast by guests and officials attending the event.  The Award is created by Tiffany and Co.

Who are the officials presenting the Award?

Jury Members (Preview)

2 individuals responsible for the vetting selection of the submitted applications as well as being members of the Committee to choose which car model will be recognized with the Tiffany Award as “Most Important” within each Special Exhibitor exhibition.  Jury Members will also participate in the voting of the Elliot Handler Award.

Head Judge (Preview)

Responsible for the Hot Wheels Concours exhibition as well as being a member of the Committee to choose which car model will be recognized with the Tiffany Award as “Most Important” within each Special Exhibitor exhibition.  The Head Judge will also participate in the voting of the Elliot Handler Award and will cast the sole vote for the 2020/21 Hot Wheels Concours Trophy recognizing the car best representing the spirit of the 2020/21 event.
